ALL AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE CONGRESS ADDS SUPER SIRES IN 2019
The Ohio Quarter Horse Association is pleased to announce the addition of the Super Sires program to the 2019 All American Quarter Horse Congress. The Super Sires program allows Non-Pro and Open riders to show off their skill sets while promoting the quality and efficacy of breeding to quality bloodlines.

"Our entity is not a personal gain entity. We’re a horseman-based program that’s dedicated to horsemen,” says Stephen Stephens, Super Sires Executive Committee member. “At the end of the day, we’re all giving, both financially and time-wise, to make this possible."

The Ohio Quarter Horse Association is proud to partner with an organization that is actively working to help fellow horsemen, better the quality of the breed and support the industry.

“With a combined effort of the All American Quarter Horse Congress and the Super Sires program, we will be offering three Super Sires classes this year," said Dr. Scott Myers, OQHA Executive Director. "In a joint effort to help improve our industry, we are looking forward to working with this exciting new program and we feel these classes will be a great addition to our show."

The horsemen and women behind the scenes on the Super Sires Executive Committee are dedicated to building a program that benefits the industry. They have been working hard to iron out the details on the new things happening in 2019 that were announced in August during the NSBA World Show. Super Sires has things ready to roll out at the start of the All American Quarter Horse Congress and will have lots of information available at the Super Sires booth in Congress Hall (booth #401.)
With the continued success and interest in the Super Sires Non-Pro Western Pleasure events there is no doubt that 2019 should continue the trend of growth and recognition. The 2018 events were held in conjunction with the SOQHA Madness and Tom Powers Futurity and paid out over $56,000 in four classes! Super Sires has paid out over $386,000 in just six years thanks to our stallion owners and wonderful sponsors.

Big Changes In Store For Super Sires Program
Equine Chronicle
By: Brittany Bevis - The Official Publication of Super Sires
The minds behind the Western Pleasure Super Sires program met at the NSBA World Show to discuss some big changes to the program that will be coming in 2019.
The first change comes to the type of stallions that will be eligible for the program. In the past, there was a limit on a sire’s earnings at $300,000, so the program had a decidedly younger focus. Moving forward, the program will be open to all stallions, regardless of earnings.
“We’ve been very successful in giving out over $380,000 to non pros over the past six years,” says WPSS Committee Member, Joan Schroeder. “We feel it’s a very healthy time in our industry, and we want to grow.”
In addition, moving forward, there will be two divisions- Western and English. “To be honest, I don’t think there is an actual English program like this out there,” says Stephen Stephens. “Like Joan said, we will start out in 2019 and  for any sire that signs up in the English division, yearlings by that stallion will get a deal with nomination right into the Longe Line class that year with a $5,000 guaranteed purse to the winner.”
